For a relatively new winery to the Willamette Valley, Alexana has really started turning heads and palates towards its style of winemaking. Started by Dr. Revana of Napa-fame, this family-run business has created quite a good buzz in the hills of Dundee Oregon.
Technical Data:
- Appellation: Dundee Hills
- Vineyard Designation: Revana Vineyard
- Alcohol: 13.1%
- Price: $42
Nose: Dirty cranberries, cigar wrapper, an old leather-bound book, mushroom, caramelized apples, wet cedar and pomegranate.
Taste: This is still a very young but is pretty solid even right now. It does showcase a really nice combination of fruit, acid tannin and overall structure. Good front, mid-palate and finish make it a very good Pinot, however, there are others out there for less money that are just as good.
