2012 Subaru Impreza 2.0i Premium – Impressions

By Duane Pemberton

Subaru owners are perhaps the most loyal I know of – I got a good idea of this when my younger brother, purchased one a number of years ago. There’s a special bond that seems to occur between these all-wheel-drive cars and their respective owners.

This 2012 2.0i Premium is a mid-sized, 4-door sedan that is right around the $20-ish mark and has some good features, good ride and really good fuel economy.

In the end, Subaru has a really good value proposition on its hands with the Premium 2.0i – it offers exceptional fuel economy, a legendary all-wheel-drive system and happens to handle pretty good with an overall solid feel to it.

Spot on review.  I bought one about three months ago and have been happy, if not overjoyed, with it.  The handling is fantastic, but, the gutlessness on the takeoff does get a bit irritating if you have driven more powerful cars in the past.  Fuel mileage in legit, we are saving a ton of cash on gas compared to my last commuter.  Bluetooth works well, spacious enough to take a family of four on a weekend road trip, and so far great in the vineyards.  The stereo could use an upgrade as the sound quality is pretty mediocre.  All and all a quite practical and reliable choice.
