This years Wine Rocks Seattle was bigger than ever – instead of being stuck in the ghetto-part of Seattle like last year, this one was right on pier 66 with an incredible view of Puget Sound. The Bell Harbor Convention Center is no stranger to wine events, nor is Jamie Peha – one of the most proflific wine event planners in the greater Seattle area. She always puts on a great event and Wine Rocks is one of her best.
Plenty of wine, food and live music was on-hand to make it a kick-ass event for the price of $40 and went for four hours – a good deal, no matter how you stack it. Some of our favorite wines of the night included the wines of Corvus Cellars, Smasne Cellars and the bubbly from Treveri.
There were also two local distilleries pouring as well, Project V and Brovo – was nice to see them into the mix of wine, both distilleries had great stuff they were pouring – I really dig the Chai-spiced vodka from Project V.
Pike Brewing company had the beer flowing for those “in-between-wine” times, I’ve always enjoyed their beer.
All in all, it was a great time to be had by everyone who attended – my only regret is that this event is but once a year – Jamie, if you’re reading this, do us all a favor and put this event on once a month. Thank you!
