Washington State does a bang-up job offering mouthwatering Syrah – and a lot of them are really good values like this 2006 from Snoqualmie. Joy Anderson has a good track record of making insanely good wines for relatively low prices and this wine is no different.
Technical Data:
- Acidity: 0.61 g/100ml
- pH: 3.70
- Alcohol: 13.8%
- Blend: 94.2% Syrah, 5.8% Mourvedre
- Price: $20
Nose: Blackberry, bramble, black cherry, burnt leaf, licorice, cedar smoke and beef jerky.
Taste: Blackberry pie filling without the sweetness, peppered beef jerky, cigar wrapper, plums, currant and black cherry cola. Soft tannins on the mid palate that create a superb mouthfeel and a finish that lingers on for days with nice earthy overtones.
