Treveri Extra-Brut “Blanc de Blanc” Sparkling Wine – Review

Having your wines served at the White House is a great honor for any winery, especially one that’s relatively still a baby. Terveri Cellars, located in Yakima Washington, was fortunate enough to have its winery visited last year by one of the chefs of Hillary Clinton who enjoyed their bubbly so much it was ordered soon thereafter.

This Extra Brut is made from 100% Chardonnay in a methode champenoise.

Nose: Apricot, apple, white peach and asian pear with a slight hint of baking spices.

Taste: I really dig the extra dryness of this “extra brut” style – it seems to enhance the beasutiful fruit flavors coming out like green apple, peach, grapefruit and kiwi with a pinch of citrus. Good mid palate where the dryness really kicks into hyperdrive and acts as a virtual razor blade, scrapping your palate clean so you can easily taste your next bite of food. A floral, refreshing finish that lasts for hours make this a very food-friendly, easy-drinking bottle.
