Mills Reef is a New Zealand winery that is bringing a lot of quality to price ratio to the table. This 2009 Merlot Malbec wine is very tasty and an excellent wine for its price of $20. The winery was founded in 1989 by the Preston family and have quickly become a good, premium brand within that country and now abroad.

Nose: Dark plums, currant, allspice, boysenberry, charred violet and chocolate.
Taste: This is a beautiful, dark, inky Malbec that layers the palate with black fruits all day long. The mid palate introduces notes of the black currant, bramble, dark chocolate and a hint of tobacco. Excellent, lingering finisht which hangs out for hours.
