Januik Winery in Woodinville Celebrates Harvest

Woodinville, Wash. – Sept. 30, 2008 – Harvest comes but once a year, and now through the end of October is the time to view winemaking in action at Novelty Hill – Januik winery in Woodinville, one of Washington’s hottest new destination wineries.  The building’s interior observation deck offers the public a unique opportunity to observe grapes grown in Eastern Washington as they arrive at the winery and are crushed, fermented and barrel aged.

For those who want to make an afternoon of it, the winery prepares rustic, brick-oven pizza, handmade on-site, for $12 (Saturdays and Sundays only).   The tasting room offers a choice of three distinct wine tasting flights ranging in price from $5 – $10.   Guests are invited to take advantage of the winery’s other amenities such as a stroll around the grounds, a glass of wine by the outdoor fire pit, or a game of bocce ball.

Novelty Hill and Januik are two independent wineries sharing a tasting room and state of the art production facility as well as the talents of veteran Washington winemaker Mike Januik.  Januik has been making wine in the Columbia Valley since 1984.  He launched his own label in 1999 and began making wine for Novelty Hill in 2000.

The winery, located at 14710 Woodinville-Redmond Rd. NE in Woodinville adjacent to Columbia Winery, is open to visitors from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m., daily.   For further information, call the winery at 425-481-5502 or visit noveltyhilljanuik.com.
