While most of you preferred we not “score” wines, I came up with a new system which I hope not only helps you make a more informed buying decision but also will help the greater good of the industry at large.
We here at WineFoot think that wine is much more of an experience – a paid one, usually (you pay for wine and it in turn provides some sort of experience – could be good or bad).
In that spirit we’re proud to announce our new, “W.E.P.” program – Worth Every Penny. How many times have you had a wine which you thought to yourself “hmm… it was good, but it wasn’t (enter dollar amount here) good.”?
In other words, there have been all too many bottles we’ve all tasted which aren’t nearly worth the price being asked for it so here’s how the rating scale will break down:
Every wine we taste will start off at a mark off 100% which is the MSRP (for sale price at the winery) at the time of the review. We will rate the wines on this scale with the best ratings of 100%+ (the + denotes a wine that is so good, we’d actually be willing to pay more for it than the asking price) going to those wines which we feel represent strong kung-fu for the price of admission.
This should put every wine out there on an equal starting point and give us the chance to tell you is the wine we’re reviewing a “W.E.P.”?
