Why would Loso leave a seemingly successful winery which he himself built from the ground up. Of course he got booted. Don't forget that Matt was still in charge until the end of the 2007 Harvest, so '06 and '07 vintages which will be released over the next couple of years are still his. If you have tasted his '05 Claret and '05 Syrah, you can see how terrible they are, because he was probably to busy spending other people's money to actually make good wine. My guess is the '06 and '07 will probably be bad too, and we won't see good wine from Matthews again until the 2008 or the 2009 vintages are released!
